Secret Passage is an interactive installation comprised of three parts. Upon entering the gallery, the viewer notices a large wooden representation of a wrought iron gate, bent and smashed open, bisecting the space. A collection gouache and ink "bait" drawings hang on the walls beyond. As the viewer's curiosity lures her through the "Dead Gate," a discretely placed motion sensor activates the "Ghost Gate." A crocheted curtain resembling the form of a gate hangs from a mechanical rope and pulley system mounted on the wall. Once triggered, the crocheted gate slow moves along the perimeter of the gallery , blocking the entrance, trapping the viewers inside (momentarily.)
