Keppinger Vacuum Tube Theremin Inductor Set

Probably the most intimidating part of building a Mark Keppinger designed vacuum tube theremin is the prospect of making the the five large custom inductor coils. Just the thought of winding gossamer-thin magnet wire thousands of turns by hand is enough to scare away most amature builders. As a service to theremin builders/ enthusiasts and to promote Mr. Keppinger's excellent design, I am offering a complete set of inductor coils for building a Keppinger tube theremin.
Each coil is hand wound on phenolic tube form, to the exact specifications listed in Jeff Spark's verified schematic and parts list (from thereminworld.com) The set includes brass hardware (size 4-40) terminal connections and are completely ready to wire up and install.

* The three oscillator coils come pre-drilled for mounting but the set does not include the insulated standoffs for fastening the oscillator coils to the chassis. Upon request I can
provide additional 4-40 or 6-32 brass screws for the standoffs you intend to use.

Etherwave and EM Theremin Inductor Set

For those yearning to break free from the ubiquitous slim box perched atop a mic stand, I present the EW/EM theremin large inductor kit! If you are iplanning on building a custom cabinet, why not replace the tiny antenna eq coils in the Etherwave with beautiful, large hand-wound coils for a look reminicent of traditional early theremins.
Simply bypass the originals and connect the new coils in line with the antennas. Retune and play.

Each kit includes three inductors:
* one 12.5" x 3.1" Hand wound Pitch Antenna EQ coil - 32mH
* one 10.5"x 3.1" Hand wound Volume Antenna EQ coil - 12.5mH
* one NOS 10mH variable inductor - used in series with the pitch coil to bring the
required inductance (about 40mH) but is adjustable to compensate for the
added capacitance of the larger coils. Very helpful in fine tuning the linearity of the
theremin.

Intended for moderately-skilled builders with a basic understanding of the EW/Em layout. A new cabinet will be required, obviously. The Etherwave is very well designed. This kit does not claim to improve the sound, playability, linearity, etc.
